Kerry Skillin is a nationally recognized Vocational Consultant and Expert Witness with more than 30 years of experience in vocational consulting, vocational rehabilitation counseling, and vocational expert work. At Medical and Life Care Consulting, she specializes in assessing employability, wage-earning capacity, and job search diligence in cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, employment law, family law/divorce, workers’ compensation, and LTD/ERISA.
Kerry holds a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with a concentration in Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Vocational Evaluator Specialist (CVE), holds the diplomate status as a board certified vocational expert with the American Board of Vocational Experts (ABVE/D), holds the International Psychometric Evaluation Certification, Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor (Commonwealth of Massachusetts) and Qualified Rehabilitation Counselor (State of Rhode Island).
Kerry follows peer-reviewed and accepted methodology in her field to include, all or portions of on a case by case basis: records review, vocational interview, administration, scoring and analysis of vocational testing results, analysis and classification of past work, transferable skills analysis, pre-post injury vocational analysis, consideration of vocational rehabilitation needs, labor market research and analysis, and the preparation of expert reports or disclosures tailored to legal proceedings. She is known for her thorough, detail oriented evaluations and has been qualified as a vocational expert in both State and Federal courts.
In addition to her litigation and vocational case management work, Kerry worked as the Return To Work Manager for a Level I Trauma Hospital & its affiliates to create and implement a system wide RTW program for its injured workers. Kerry also served as an Adjunct Professor at Springfield College where she has taught graduate level courses in vocational rehabilitation and mentored graduate students in the course of her employment. Kerry has also been an active member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and previously served as President, and held additional board positions, within the New England Chapter. Kerry has presented at legal and professional conferences within the field of vocational consulting and vocational rehabilitation.
