Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a serious medical condition, which often results in severe morbidity and permanent disability. Globally, between 250,000 and 500,000 patients each year suffer a spinal cord injury and in the United States there are approximately 17,000 new cases of SCI each year, and roughly 282,000 persons are estimated to be living with SCI. In this webinar, Medical and Life Care Consulting Expert, April Pettengill, will provide a foundational overview of the spine, injury types (cervical versus lumbar) and classifications and the varying impacts of a spinal cord injury, and she will offer guidance for legal practitioners working on spinal cord injury cases and evaluating the injured parties’ long-term needs.
